Conclusion
ChromeOS does not work on HP Pro X2 612 G2 12".
Follow-up
Windows 11 was installed and it turned out that the Pro version was already activated with a digital licence. Therefore, Windows 11 works better on a HP Pro X2 612 than any version of Android/ChromeOS that I have found.
