Consumer post Kwik-Fit tyre checks

What you should check after you've had tyres fitted by Kwik-Fit

Errors found after Kwik-Fit tyre fittings lead to this list of things we should check after tyres have been installed by Kwik-Fit:
  1. Has the correct tyre been fitted? (I've had one punctured Pirelli All Weather as part of the front pair replaced by a Goodyear!)
  2. Is the direction of rotation correct? (Two rear tyres were fitted the wrong way round and had to be swapped at home)
  3. Has the tyre been over-inflated? (Tyres are frequently over-inflated by Kwik Fit, e.g. my latest experience was that the new tyre was inflated to 37 PSI whilst the others were at 31 PSI. This gives the new tyre a faster feel).
  4. Has the locking wheel nut been put back where it should go? On one occasion I came home and found it was still attached to the wheel, it would have been a disaster if it had fallen off somewhere on the road!
